Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans and Management
Storm water pollution can occur anywhere that rainwater or snowmelt runoff comes into contact with pollutants. Since storm water does not enter a treatment process before it enters our streams, rivers, lakes, and oceans, it must be controlled. The Environmental Protection Agency requires, under the Clean Water Act, that Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) be prepared and implemented at construction sites and anywhere that industrial runoff occurs. Three categories of control practices must be implemented:
ERI reviews the scope of the project to address: (1) policy, (2) planning, (3) preconstruction, (4) construction, and (5) postconstruction activities and recommends Best Management Practices (BMPs) for developers, contractors, inspectors, and others responsible for oversight of on-site construction activity.
ERI has further experience preparing and submitting site-specific SWPPPs. At a minimum, the SWPPPs address the following:
ERI provides both inspection and necessary water treatment services to comply with the approved SWPPP.
